►Pinterest – another great excuse!

Finally, a work excuse to browse even longer on Pinterest! If you’re already on Pinterest, you know how fabulously fun and addictive it can be.

If you haven’t checked it out yet, it’s free.

I have an account but haven’t been using it; perhaps now over the summer downtime* I’ll get back on there.

I’m inspired to do so by 2 Facebook posts by Debby Roth, Marketing Relationship Manager at Greater Giving. Most of you are familiar with Greater Giving’s huge arsenal of products and services for non-profits. Many of you may be already be friends with Debby on Facebook, LinkedIn, or otherwise.

Pinterest states, “Our goal is to connect everyone in the world through the ‘things’ they find interesting.” Debby has started 2 great collections that I think you’ll agree are interesting, and might be inspiring!

1. Class Project ideas for Benefit Auctions

2.  Decorating and Theme Ideas

So as you run across that clever idea that would be perfect for your auction, Pin it to your own “Auction Ideas” board. If you’re so inclined, you can “follow” individual boards and benefit from the hours of research done by others.

After all, you only do 1 or 2 events a year, yet there are hundreds of thousands of auction committee members, Development Directors, and professional fundraisers who could (and should!) be sharing ideas.

This week, start Pinning, Following and…Winning! (couldn’t resist)

*most fundraising auctioneers get to catch their breath and catch up on leisure projects during the less hectic summer months
